Welcome to Mrs. Miller's First Grade...
It's hard to believe that March is here.  This mild winter is on its way out...and even milder weather will be here soon!  One thing is for sure, your incredible children are "SPRINGING" up all over.

They are in the midst of stretching their abilities and growing in knowledge.  Let your child read to you every night.  Let them practice with math flash cards, and try turning it into a fun go-fish type of game.  Have your child write down three things that you want them to do in complete sentences.  Not only will you get them to help you out, but they will get extra practice writing sentences, while also improving their printing.  Your children will be smarter in reading, writing, and math skills, as they march into March.

"Homework is Fun" Routine:
Spelling words are given out every Monday.  So, be ready for a Spelling Test every Friday.

Make sure to complete your fifteen minutes of reading every night.

Try to visit Razz Kids for extra reading practice at least two times a week.

Challenge yourself and improve your math skills with IXL Math as often as possible.

Quick Tips:
1.     It's a good idea to supply your children with a healthy snack, that is quick and easy to eat during work time, such as a granola bar, pretzels, a piece of fruit, or cheese and crackers.

2.
Another suggestion is to pack a water thermos daily for your child to use during the day.

3.    Check to see that your child has crayons and pencils to use every day.
